Kölbs Reading Pillow is designed as a structured back cushion rather than a loose pile of fill: solid foam provides support with soft cushioning, and armrests add places to rest your arms while you sit up.
That makes it a practical option for reading, TV, gaming, or a bed-rest setup where you want a backrest that stays in a defined shape.
The choice between Standard and Tall is central to its fit: Standard is intended for people 5' 11" or under, while Tall is intended for people 5' 11" and above.
Pockets, a carry handle, and a removable plush cover round out the everyday details, though this is still a backrest first rather than a lap desk or workstation.

Who Should Buy Kölbs Pillow?
Good fit
Choose Kölbs Reading Pillow if you want a structured foam backrest with armrests for reading, watching TV, gaming, or sitting up during bed rest.
The shape is aimed at supported lounging rather than holding a laptop as a work surface.
It is a good fit for buyers who value a defined height choice and handy storage for a phone, remote, or book.
Check the Standard or Tall guidance against your height and desired coverage, then consider whether the plush velvet cover suits your preferred feel.
Who should skip it
Skip it if you primarily need a lap desk, a dedicated laptop support surface, or integrated holders for drinks and a phone; its design centers on a foam backrest and armrests.
Look elsewhere if you need one precise size outside the two stated height recommendations or dislike plush velvet as a cover material.
Kölbs Pillow: Support for Upright Lounging
A structured backrest for sitting up
The solid foam construction is the core of the design: it aims to hold a supportive shape while retaining soft cushioning.
That makes it relevant for reading or screen time in bed, where a conventional flat pillow may not create the same defined backrest setup.
Armrests and small-item storage
Armrests extend the support beyond the back, while their side pockets give a nearby place for small items used during a reading or viewing session.
These details keep the pillow oriented toward relaxed seated use rather than a flat cushion alone.
Choose size before settling in
The height guide is unusually practical for a backrest pillow: Standard is positioned for people up to 5' 11", while Tall is intended from 5' 11" upward.
If you are close to that point, think about your torso length and whether you prefer more back coverage when seated.
Maintenance and moving it around
The cover is removable for washing, and the carry handle makes it easier to move the pillow between bed and couch.
Those practical touches support regular home use, though its role remains that of a large backrest cushion rather than a compact travel pillow.

Is Kölbs Pillow Worth It?
Kölbs Reading Pillow is worth considering if you want a structured foam backrest with armrests for reading, viewing, or gaming while seated in bed or on a sofa.
Its solid foam, size options, pockets, carry handle, and removable washable cover make the design practical for regular home lounging.
It is less suitable for buyers who need a work surface or a very different cover texture.
Check the height guide before choosing a size; if those compromises fit your routine, this is a focused backrest pillow with useful comfort and storage details.
